Ordinals, Runes, Alkanes and BTC Staking
What’s FluidTokens Staking on Bitcoin?
FluidTokens staking on Bitcoin lets you earn rewards by locking up Runes, Ordinals, and Alkanes in a secure, on-chain manner via the FluidTokens Staking Script (a Bitcoin Layer 1 script that acts like a basic smart contract).
Your tokens and rewards are locked in this script, and only you can unlock them using a time-lock mechanism. It’s non-custodial, permissionless, and transparent—anyone can review the script before signing the transaction.
You can stake any combination of Bitcoin-based assets like Runes, Ordinals, and Alkanes, and rewards can be in any of those too—they’re fully mixable. For example, stake a Rune and earn rewards in Ordinals or Alkanes.
Note: If you’re a project that wants to create a custom staking vault (e.g., for your token), please contact us via our FluidTokens Discord server.
Runes, Ordinals, and Alkanes Staking on FluidTokens: General Overview
Runes and Ordinals are metaprotocols on Bitcoin, i.e., they’re ways to add tokens and inscriptions to Bitcoin without needing full smart contracts. Vaults are customizable pools for staking, each with rules set by the project (e.g., what you stake and what rewards you get). You can stake Runes, Ordinals, or Alkanes and receive custom rewards - could be a fixed APR, project fees, or token emissions. Yields come directly from the projects themselves (e.g., token rewards or fees to incentivize locking up supply). It’s all custom, so check each vault’s APR (often 3%+ for $FLDT-related ones, but varies). Rewards flow from the project’s own ecosystem - like token distributions or fees - to encourage holding and reduce available supply.
Note: Once you stake your assets, you must wait for the staking period to end before initiating a withdrawal.
